IESTA Musical Instruments has been developing, producing and distributing high-quality string instruments since 1996.
Based in Karlsruhe, Germany, IESTA combines European instrument-making traditions with international experience in design, production and distribution. Over the years, the company has developed a broad range of modern and baroque string instruments for students, advanced players and professional musicians.
IESTA works closely with experienced instrument makers and selected partners, with particular attention to materials, model development, craftsmanship and quality control.
In addition to its own instruments, IESTA also offers selected bows, cases and accessories and continues to explore new materials and technologies, including carbon-fibre bows.
Mr. Liu Peng
Founder
Liu Peng is the founder and executive director of IESTA.
Before founding IESTA, he studied violin, Baroque violin, and chamber music in Germany. From 1980 to 1990, he served as first violinist of the Beijing String Quartet, and in 2005, he was awarded the title of Honorary Professor by the Sichuan Conservatory of Music.
The musical and professional experience he gained in China and Europe has had a profound influence on IESTA’s development. From its inception, the organization’s mission has been to combine musical expertise, instrument-making traditions, and international collaboration.
This philosophy remains at the core of IESTA to this day: instruments must not only be meticulously crafted but must also meet the practical needs of musicians.

IESTA Beijing Musical Instrumants Co.,Ltd. was established in 2001 and has since become an important part of IESTA’s instrument-making and product development.
The Beijing workshop specialises in the production of modern and baroque string instruments, including violins, violas, cellos and viols.
Experienced makers work with carefully selected Tonewoods and models inspired by the European violin-making tradition. Over more than two decades, IESTA Beijing has developed its own production experience, technical standards and quality-control procedures.
The workshop also produces the IESTA Celano series as well as selected higher-grade instruments for music students, professional players and international customers.
Today, IESTA Beijing serves both the Chinese domestic market and international markets. Its work combines traditional craftsmanship, practical production experience and continuous quality improvement.
IESTA workshop History
In 2010, following the redevelopment of the area in Beijing, IESTA relocated its workshop to a new site in Donghuashan Village, Shunyi District.
The new workshop provided more space for instrument making, assembly, finishing and quality control and marked an important stage in the further development of IESTA workshop Beijing.

Today, IESTA operates between Karlsruhe and Beijing and works with musicians, schools, dealers and partners in different countries.
The company’s activities include modern string instruments, baroque instruments, viols, bows, cases and accessories, as well as selected higher-grade and European instruments.
IESTA continues to develop its product range while maintaining a long-term focus on craftsmanship, quality, service and international cooperation.
